Questions for internet dating

I was having brunch with some girlfriends the other day, and we got on the subject of first dates. It's a generic question that breeds generic answers, and doesn’t really give you additional insight into who I am.While we all had different experiences, there was one thing we all agreed on: There are a few questions we are absolutely of hearing from guys on a first date. Asking me what I “do for fun” kind of makes me feel like I’m on an interview, not a date. One of the more difficult issues that people frequently wrestle with is: what are the rules when it comes to interacting with a match online, before you’re in a relationship? Is it OK to track them down on Facebook before you’ve met? Is Googling them an invasion of privacy or simply a way of doing your due diligence before you meet?Remember that your counterpart is likely to be as nervous as you though, even if they don’t look it!As a coach I listen a lot more than I talk, it’s the nature of what I do.It’s also a strategy that works well if you find yourself nervous.People, on the whole, love talking about themselves.

You are anxious and going out on a date with a relative stranger can feel awkward. The “rules” of online dating are, for the most part, unspecified and unspoken and prone to change without any seeming warning. What seems like a simple, intuitive choice can make the difference between a happy first date and echoing silence in your inbox. So why not open the floodgates with some compelling questions? ” and spark some in-depth discussions that get a little personal in all the right ways.Consider popping a few of these questions on your next first date and see where they lead the conversation. What do they wish they could have done differently, if anything? You don’t have to rapid fire interrogate someone, of course, but it can lead to a conversation about their past that’s meaningful but still light. This isn’t meant to prompt a confession of your date’s failures. What about you, what do you wish you were better at? This question will let your date show their vulnerable side, and admit to something they’re not entirely comfortable with, particularly if you chip in first to show solidarity.
